Free Data Weekend hits the spot
LIME offers Free Data Weekend
(CNS Business): Prepaid mobile customers rejoiced when telecommunication provider LIME offered free data last weekend as part of their “Big Your Life” summer promotion. The free offer is a first in the Cayman Islands and a first for LIME Caribbean. Prepaid customers were able roam the web, download music and much more free of charge, from midnight Friday until midnight on Sunday.
Will Doran, a prepaid mobile customer, said, “I was over in Cayman Brac for the weekend and couldn’t believe that LIME was giving free data for the weekend. I took full advantage of the offer by streaming Deezer while I was at the beach as well as posting photos to my social media pages to show my family and friends where I was and what I was doing. I hope LIME has more offers like this.”
Eugene Nolan, Commercial Director, explained, “It was an amazing success; this promotion has shown that mobile customers in the Cayman Islands have an unbridled thirst for mobile data. People want to be connected wherever they are whether at home, work or at the beach.”
He added, “The promotion was a great testament for our mobile network which is ranked one of the best in the world for coverage, number of dropped calls and delivery of service. It lived up to all our expectations and we are delighted with the results that showed mobile data consumption off the charts.”
LIME officials explained the free data weekend for prepaid mobile customers was their way of saying thank you to all of their loyal customers.
“There are still lots of people with smartphones who are not using the functionality; they are still just calling and texting. Giving them the freedom to try data for free shows how easy it is to stay connected with family and friends by sharing photos, music, updating social media and chatting wherever they are in the world, they soon realize it really can change their lives,” Nolan stated.
