(CNS Business): Over 150 trust and private wealth specialists from Cayman, the United Kingdom and the United States will be attending a day-long conference on Grand Cayman next month, bringing a small but welcome boost of business during the low tourism season as well as promoting the off shore sector.  The major trust and private client event hosted by Cayman-based international law firm, Mourant Ozannes, is now in its sixth year and organisers are boasting of a “compelling line up of speakers”.

The theme of the conference taking place at the Ritz-Carlton is “Shifting Sands – the shocks and aftershocks affecting the trust and wealth management business in 2016 and beyond”.

Lawyers from Mourant Ozannes’ renowned and award-winning International Trusts & Private Client (ITPC) team will be joined by other well-known experts to debate, among other areas, key issues for trusts and trustees in relation to: transparency, information exchange & registers of ownership, insolvent trusts, resolution of trust disputes and disclosure of trust information, organisers said in a release.

Jim Edmondson, Global Head of Mourant Ozannes’ International Private Client and Trust practice, said it had become a key event in the private client and trust world.

“Never has the environment been so dynamic and this year’s conference will be covering some key issues for trustees and their advisors. It promises to give attendees some real food for thought as well as practical direction to take back to their own organisations,” he said.

The event will be chaired by Edmondson and Shan Warnock-Smith QC, ICT Chambers (Cayman Islands) and 5 Stone Buildings (London).

Key speakers include Henry Legge QC (5 Stone Buildings), Peter Cotorceanu (Anaford), Anthony Poulton (Baker & McKenzie LLP), Geoffrey Kertesz (Bircham Dyson Bell), Paul Bowen, QC (Brick Court Chambers), Steven L. Cantor (The Cantor Group), Jeremy Gordon (Farrer & Co LLP), Mark Harper (Hughes Fowler Carruthers),  Andrew de la Rosa (ICT Chambers), Joshua Rubenstein (Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP), Nicholas Holland (McDermott Will & Emery), Robert Brodrick (Payne Hicks Beach), Giles Richardson (Serle Court), Jeff Millington (Smith & Williamson) and James Price (Stewarts Law).
