US talk show star to headline local investment conference

Jay Leno, keynote speaker at the Cayman Alternative Investment Summit

(CNS Business): Comedian, actor, writer, producer and television star Jay Leno will be the keynote speaker at the Cayman Alternative Investment Summit on Grand Cayman next week. Leno has been a late night chat show host for the last 20 years and was recently inducted into the Television Hall of Fame. Leno will address the audience of on the first night during dinner, when he will speak about his own investment strategies mixed in with a stand-up routine, organisers said.

Leno is not the only US star who will be appearing at the conference; actress Jamie Lee Curtis is scheduled to give an address during lunch on the second day of the conference, when she will focus on what the rich do with their cash.

Chris Duggan, Vice President at Dart Enterprises and Director of the Kenneth B. Dart Foundation, described Leno as one of the most popular and recognizable late night TV hosts.

“He headlines an outstanding line-up of speakers and we are really excited to have someone of his stature and personality on board to deliver an interesting and entertaining keynote address,” Duggan said. “This year’s speaker line-up is our best yet, with some of the greatest experts in the industry on hand to discuss and debate supercharging the alternative investment industry. We are very much looking forward to welcoming our speakers and delegates to what is sure to be a very entertaining and informative event.”

Focussed on alternative investments, private equity and hedge fund management, this year’s theme is “Alternative Investments: Supercharged” and organisers said they expect to attract 500-plus executives.

Anthony Cowell, partner for KPMG and editorial chair for the conference, said he was thrilled that they had secured Leno as the keynote speaker.

“CAIS hosts the leading voices in the global financial community, and this year’s insights will continue to deliver extraordinary value and benefit for investors,” he said.

The summit will take place at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman on 4 and 5 February.
