CIMPA Marketing Conference focuses on innovation

Viveka von Rosen, a guest speaker at the CIMPA Marketing Conference

(CNS): Over 100 marketing and communication professionals are expected to attend the third Annual CIMPA Marketing Conference on Tuesday 13 October, hosted and organized by the Cayman Islands Marketing Professionals Association (CIMPA), with the theme, “The Art of Innovation”. Speakers will include both local and international industry experts in a number of marketing related fields, such as social media, web domains, digital media and branding.  

CIMPA Chairman Lynne Byles said, “Cayman’s marketing professionals will learn from industry leaders about the convergence of the marketing industry’s latest innovations and emerging trends. There is truly a topic for everyone, from marketers to small business owners to CEOs.”

The conference will open with speaker Viveka von Rosen, the author of bestselling “LinkedIn Marketing: An Hour a Day” and a contributing expert to several official LinkedIn publications. She has also been listed by Forbes as a top social media influencer for three years, and has been cited and featured in Money Magazine, Simple Living, CNN, Forbes, Entrepreneur, Fortune, Mashable and The Social Media Examiner.

Richie Kelly, CEO of Trend Media, who leads the Digital Media division for Digicel in the Caribbean and previously working for leading powerhouses in Europe such as Amazon, Ebay, BBC.com and Sky, will walk attendees through some simple building blocks to keeping a business relevant in the mobile age.

Shomari Scott, Marketing Director for Health City, will analyze how our daily routines can squash the seeds of innovation, leaving delegates to ask if they are an “Innovation Murderer”.

Frank Schilling, Founder of Uniregistry, will present “Domain Innovation: Naming and Its Importance to your Business”, discussing the evolution of naming and its continued importance to Internet Marketing in the age of Twitter, Facebook and other forms of social media.

Other speakers include Marketing Newcomer of the Year and Creative Director, Josh Pearl; Marketer of Year, Laura Skec, Director of Sales & Marketing at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort; Kimberly Lallouz, Restaurateur and Owner at Miss Pret a Manger & Resto–Bar Monsieur in Montreal; and  welcoming back Jeff Abracen, Creative Director, BAM Strategy.

The conference will be held at Westin, Grand Cayman Resort & Spa. Registration begins at 8:00am and the conference will close at 4:05pm followed by a networking reception.

Registration is open until Monday, 12 October through the CIMPA website – www.cimpa.ky.  Attendees can also register between 8:00am – 9:00am on the day of the conference.
