Keith Sahm receives Diver of the Year award from Armand Zigahn, Executive Director of Beneath The Sea

(CNS Business): Local dive legend and enthusiast Keith Sahm has been recognized for his efforts on a national level and named Diver of the Year at the 2015 Beneath the Sea show in New Jersey. Sahm, the general manager of Sunset House hotel and Sunset Divers, was honoured with the prestigious award during the largest scuba and dive travel show in North America in March. Beneath the Sea accredited Sahm for his role in support of promoting scuba recreation, training, and safety.

Sahm started at Sunset House in 1996. During his time with the resort, he traveled to the United States as the resort’s USA Marketing and Sales Manager. He then returned permanently to Grand Cayman, where he is now the co-GM of the resort. Sahm continues focusing on the marketing, PR and advertising functions, as well as overseeing the property operations. He is a former director on the Board of the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA), and he also serves on the Dive Marketing Committee of the Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA).

“Mr Sahm is an integral part of planning for the month long Legends and Lions diving event in the Cayman Islands and consistently speaks on behalf of the scuba diving organizations about matters affecting the sport throughout the Cayman Islands. We are pleased that such an organization like Beneath the Sea has recognized one of our own for this noteworthy award,” Minister of Tourism, Moses Kirkconnell stated.

Director of Tourism Rosa Harris, added, “Mr Sahm embodies the commitment and passion for the sport of scuba diving that enables the Cayman Islands to be innovative leaders in the industry. He is a distinguished representative of the Cayman Islands at all times and a person of integrity, which we can count on for technical advice on the sport of Scuba Diving. The Department of Tourism congratulates Keith on this award, and look forward to continuing our longstanding partnership with him and Sunset House.”
