(CNS Business): Chamber of Commerce Pension Plan members working in the Professional & Finance sectors have elected volunteer Trustee, William (Bill) Gammerdinger to represent them on the board following an extraordinary general meeting recently. A treasury and finance professional, he has over 30 years’ experience in the industry, having become Vice President and Treasurer of Transocean’s Cayman subsidiary Transocean Inc in 2009. He holds the position as Chairman of the bank’s Investment Committee, which has investment oversight for several pension plans with total assets of about US$1.5 billion.

Gammerdinger replaces a trustee who recently stepped down due to personal and work conflicts of interest, the Chamber stated in a release.

Chamber Pension Plan Chairman Eduardo D’Angelo P. Silva said he was pleased with Gammerdinger’s appointment.

“The fact that Bill has had such an incredible amount of experience means we are able to fully embrace that experience and put it to good use for our members at the Chamber Pension Plan,” he said. “We are extremely fortunate to have a professional of Bill’s calibre on our team and we are very grateful to him for agreeing to share his expertise with us. We look forward to working with Bill in the months and years ahead.”

Gammerdinger said he was looking forward to the new role and helping move the plan forward.

“It’s a great honour to be elected by the Plan’s members to work alongside the other trustees. I have already become acquainted with several trustees and am greatly impressed with their commitment and dedication,” he said. “I’m very much looking forward to this new role to help ensure the continued smooth running of the Plan as we move forward,” he added.

As well as his industry experience, Gammerdinger has a degree with majors in Economics and Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Temple University and he also holds the Certified Treasury Professional qualification.
