Cruise port not on Chamber list of priorities

(CNS Business): The list of national priorities that the current administration should focus on are: the redevelopment of the airport, finding a solution to the George Town landfill situation and completion of the John Gray High School, the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce President, Johann Moxam, told CNS Business. He said, “Those three items have the widest impact on the community and we should focus our attentions and our financial resources on completing those projects before considering spending over $250 million on a port.”

He said the redevelopment of the George Town cruise port facility has been discussed by successive governments, but noted that a recent announcement by the Cayman Islands Tourism Association said it was not one of their top three priorities.
