CIREBA unclutters real estate signs

real estate signs cluttered.JPG(CNS Business): In an effort to get rid of cluttered masses of real estate signs, the Cayman Islands Real Estate Brokers Association (CIREBA) has introduced a new streamlined, double-sided sign with areas for multiple agents to display their property listings at one subdivision or community area, which it says is much easier to read and less distracting for drivers. The first place where the association has introduced the new sign system is in the Silver Oaks area (left, with multiple signs – see below for the new streamlines sign system), which will be used for testing and evaluating purposes.

“It is important that CIREBA continues to lead the way in being good stewards of the image of the Cayman Islands,” CIREBA President Jeanette Totten explained. “This is a project we have worked on for quite a while. CIREBA’s board has been working with the Cayman Islands Department of Planning to ensure the safest solution is offered for the community, especially with signs on the side of the road that can impact visibility for traffic. CIREBA is extremely pleased to be able to offer this to both the community and to our agents. The clutter of the other signs being randomly posted can be a bit unattractive, this will give a much cleaner look to our Islands, representing the true feel of the Cayman Islands.”

Donna Sojstrom, CIREBA’s Office Manager, said, “These new standards for sign placement will be added to the CIREBA policies.  This type of signage will help reinforce the public’s knowledge of the Multiple Listing System (MLS), and the fact that anyone using a CIREBA Agent has access to all the properties listed in the CIREBA database, thousands of properties … through the MLS system.”

Where I come from we don't consider the gawping face of an estate agent a necessary part of the advertisement.

I agree.  Now can we please get those recyclers from East End to take down all their ugly and unsightly signs from every district?  Whilst I give them credit for the recycling, their signs are a sore and sorry sight for those of us who live here, let alone those who don't.
